Dana Karlson

I studied journalism at the University of Maryland, before starting my career in fashion in New York.

At the start of the recession in 2008, I packed up and moved to London (as you do). In the UK, I worked in journalism, covering fashion and beauty for British Sky Broadcasting then Glamour.com. I lived in London for five years before returning to the US.

In 2015, I gave up my day job as managing editor of WWD’s Footwear News, and began collaborating directly with fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands to help create compelling brand identities. Storytelling - specifically in digital media - is woven through every iteration of my career. For me, visuals draw a person in, but it’s the story that sticks with them…
